Shadows in Life

Recently some exploring took me out onto the streets with my camera looking for unique things to photograph. The view of the sea, the shot of the flower, that historic monument; these are the normal things that catch our attention. This shadow cast across the street I almost missed; I stepped on it without even noticing it's presence. The iron gate which was simple in itself casts a mirror image that is missed and trodden upon without a notice by the passerby.

We are trained to look for certain things and to expect certain things. The breadth and height of the beauty in our world are sadly lost to our preconceived notions of what beauty is. We miss the little things on our way to achieving what we've been programmed to do in life.
